Owen's Room...FINALLY!

I feel like I am always cleaning and reorganizing Owen's room. Because Sean and I have so much stuff and so little storage in our apartment, Owen's room has always been the room we put our extra stuff in. Ever month I go in and try to organize things since he's getting bigger and more curious and starting to get into things. Plus, it's not fair that he doesn't have his own play place where he can just have fun and not worry about dangerous objects in his reach or stacked boxes falling on him. Plus the combination of all that and his too small clothes started becoming overwhelming. His room was becoming an unpleasant place to be, not to mention dangerous. Cleaning his room out was something I found myself doing on a weekly basis, and it was starting to become very tiring and irritating. But not anymore!
He's finally at an age where I don't have to keep going through all his clothes to try to see what still fits and what doesn't. He wears 18 month, it's big enough to where he can grow into them until he's a little bigger. For Christmas, he got many clothes, so I was able to put away all his 12 month and smaller stuff. Also, my mom got Owen a toy box for his many, many toys he's accumulated in his 15 months of life. This new toy box was exciting for me because we have several small baskets and bins around the house to put all his toys in and I just felt like our apartment was looking more and more cluttered that more toys he got. He ended up getting such a large toy box that everything can fit! This sure made me happy. (And I know he likes it too!)
So this past weekend, we set aside some time and got it all organized. We boxed up all his clothes and put them in the closet, we folded all his clothes that fit and organized them in the drawers, and we organized the toy shelves and put all the toys in the new toy box! I never want to let rooms (or closets) in my house get to a point where it literally takes me a full day to just clean what's in the room! It was ridiculous, but so rewarding once it was done. Let me just tell you how wonderful it is to have clean up time every night and after Owen goes to bed, there are not toys lying around the house. Ah...I just love cleanliness and organization. It's really a great stress relief. I have a few pictures of his new room. I wish I would have taken some before ones, but that's ok. Yay for clean, organized baby stuff!!
While I was cleaning the room, Sean and Owen were having playtime in the living room! They were playing ball and wrestling. Then I snuck in to take a family picture...and Owen was still in the mood to attack daddy, so it didn't quite turn out the way we hoped. :)

I just love my family! Ahh.
