Andrea's 25th Birthday!

It's official everyone, I am 25 years old, a quarter of a century! Turning 25 was great! It was days full of adventure and fun. First, on Saturday, Owen took me to the zoo. haha. Ok, I took Owen to the zoo, but it was his gift to me. A day with mom at one of our favorite spots. We had fun walking around looking at all the animals, we got there after 11am so they were all either eating or sleeping. Next time we'll be sure to get there when they open at 9am, because they are all awake and going nuts! :) I didn't take a lot of pictures but here are a few from when we were relaxing at the play area they have.

Monday was my actual birthday and I took the day off of work. Sean had bought me tickets to a Monday night San Francisco 49er game, so I took Monday and Tuesday off so we could go to that and not be so rushed and tired the next day.

But Monday morning I had other fun stuff to do. My older brother Josh called me when I was getting Owen ready for daycare and asked to take me to breakfast. Of course I was going to breakfast with my brother...we never do things with just the two of us. We went to IHOP and had a great time. We ordered more food than we could eat. Maybe next time we'll split our meals.  (I didn't get to take any pictures of that)  When we were done, we came back to my apartment and Sean had just gotten home from a night shift. When I walked in I found flowers and card sitting on the couch from Sean!
Josh and Sean and I visited for a little bit, but then they both needed to go to sleep since they both had just gotten off night shifts. Since Sean was going to be sleeping all morning, I had made appointments to get a pedicure. My very first one! I went with my sister-in-law Julie and my good friend Kimber. We had a lot of fun. Our feet were cleaned, massaged, lotioned and our toe nails were painted. It was fun and felt great. The only thing that was kind of dumb was that the ladies had us leave as soon as they finished painting our nails...the nail polish wasn't even dry! Haha! We probably won't go back there, but it was still a fun experience. It's always nice to have girl time, especially when you're being pampered! Here are a few pictures from that, we left our cameras in the car so we didn't get any of us in the fancy chairs, but these are good.

After the pedicures, I ran a few errands and relaxed at home for a little bit while Sean slept. When he woke up, we got ready for the game and left...at 2:30! The game didn't start until 5:30, but we wanted to make sure we got there in time. Little did we know what we were in for.  We stopped and got some food on the way and we were off!
Everything was going great, we were moving at a good pace only hitting a few spots of slowing here and there...then we had to pay toll at the bridge. That's when disaster struck. We waited in line to pay toll for an hour! After we paid, it took us almost another hour to get over the bridge and to the city. Once we were to the city it took us almost ANOTHER HOUR to get to the park and get parked!!! We didn't get to the game until the last 13 second of the 1st quarter!!! Sean was not in a good mood, he was upset about the traffic, missing the first quarter of the game and that fact that the Niners were losing when we got there...oh, and also that we were sitting my Saints fans! But after we got there and sat down and started watching, his mood got better. It was still a cool game to be at. The Niners were playing the super bowl champions AND they were going to retire Jerry Rice's number at half time, so that was exciting.

The retiring of the number ceremony was cool to see. It was cool to have all these great retired players in the same place that we were. The game was good, even though the Niners lost, it was exciting up to the last minute! I had a lot of fun, but the fun was about to end. Trying to get out and home was going to take us a lot longer than we thought. (Here's a picture of the traffic just leaving the parking lot)
My mom was watching Owen that night, and we estimated being home to pick him up between 10:30-11:00pm. Nope, it took us an hour just to get out of the parking lot, and we even waited a little bit to let traffic die down. We didn't get to my mom's house until midnight!!! UGH! Oh well, besides the traffic and the loss, I had a lot of fun anyway. Sean and I got to spend an extra 4 hours of one on one time. :)

Tuesday was my day with Sean day! He had planned a nice day out for the two of us. First, we had a nice morning with Owen. Then Sean took him to daycare and I got ready for my day of fun. He took me to the Roseville Galleria (a huge mall) to go shopping!! This is what he said, "I'm going to take you shopping for clothes, and I'm not even going to complain!" Haha...how cute. And that's exactly what he did.

After shopping and our yummy lunch, we were off to his next gift to me...shooting at the range!! This was my first time at an indoor shooting range. It was so cool. We used Sean's gun and I even got my own target to shoot at. Sean was way better than I was, but I did ok. I want to keep going so I can get better. I thought it was really sweet of him to take me, I've been wanting to go for a long time and have never been able to. Plus I think he wanted to get some practicing in, so it was double the fun for him.

After shooting, we went home. Sean was pretty sleepy so he took a nap. I watched a few shows while I cleaned the house. When Sean woke up he picked up Owen from daycare and I started dinner. We had Seth and Julie over for dinner and cake. I made chicken, mashed potatoes and corn. It was pretty yummy. Then we had cake. The cake that Owen decorated (with the help of grandma) for me!

Owen says "Happy Day!" when we tries to say happy birthday. He decorated it and my mom just wrote on it and iced it (the writing came off when i pulled off the cling wrap). After dinner it was time for cake!

After we had cake, Seth and Julie went home. I never got a group picture :( but we can always take one another time. We had family time after that. Owen and Sean and I just hung out and relaxed. Owen was wearing Sean's hat, and it was pretty cute. He loves his daddy...I love his daddy too. ;-)

I will say that my first days as a 25 year old have been wonderful. I am glad to be where I am right now and can't wait to see what the future holds. I love my family so much and am so glad that they are apart of my life and love me too. Now I just need to not think about the fact that I'm going to be 30 in 5 years!! Oh my goodness...I'm getting so old!!!!

Oh my you are sooooo old LOL!!! Haha - it looks like you had an amazing b-day though! All the stuff that didn't go perfect will only make your b-day that much more memorable! Sean is such a great hubby and Owen is the cutest son! I'm so happy for you and your cute family! I only wish I could have been there to sing happy b-day to you and spend time with you!

P.S. I have tried to make comments on your Andrea blog... and it is not letting me. Just FYI - maybe you know that and want it set up that way, but I wanted to make sure you knew.

LOVE YOU MUCHO!!!
