Owen's Birthday Party (10/16)

This year we decided to keep it small and simple. Sean has been working night shifts so we had a nice short party before he had to leave on Saturday. We had family and some close friends over...no kids though. Which was fine since Owen didn't want to take his nap on time and ended up being a grump for the first half of the party. Lol. It was nice to have everyone over. Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Josh, Uncle Seth and Aunt Julie, and Shannon and RJ all came! We had snacks, opened gifts, had cake and then watched Dora the Explorer! When everyone arrived, Owen was so cranky. But Grandpa came to the rescue with a donation of Thomas trains. (Thank you Jeannine!<--step mom, she couldn't make it.) He played with those for a while. During present opening time, Owen was really tired and started throwing his gifts! It was quite comical, but Owen didn't think so. Once he discovered that some of the gifts contained toys and books, he was a little more excited to open them. After gifts we had cake. When everyone started to sing, Owen started crying and reached for his daddy. It was so precious. Then he blew out his candle and only ate the icing off his piece. I think everyone had fun. Hopefully for Owen's 3rd birthday party he'll be in a better mood. :)

Owen playing with his new Thomas trains!
 Opening presents...he liked this one.
 Mama opening presents...Owen got tired.
His "Big 2" birthday cake! (I decorated it!)
Owen crying during his birthday song..so sad.
Teary-eyed Owen blowing out his candle.
GROUP SHOT! (and some decorations in the back)
Thank you everyone who came and those who wished Owen a happy birthday! You certainly made these days fun and special. I think he's enjoying life as a two year old.

Love the cake Andrea! You did such a good job! It's always hard when they are not in a good mood when everyone is coming to see them - but hey - he is only 2 so what can you expect! I CAN'T BELIEVE HE IS TWO! So cute! I just love you and your family!
